The major flaw in the citicorp center tower was the vulnerability from wind in the corners of the building. The columns are centers between the two corners instead of the normal positioning which would be each corner of the building. This was because they had to avoid the church that was next to the building. The reason this came to thought was because of a college student who noticed the building and started asking questions. His curiosity and awareness could have potentially saved many lives.
